My name is Brook Sutherland, and I’m a graphic designer from Columbia, South Carolina. I graduated from Anderson University in May 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design and a minor in Art History. In June 2024, I married my husband, Jones Sutherland, and together we enjoy exploring our shared passion for photography.
I fell in love with graphic design because I enjoy seeing ideas come to life—from initial concept to finished product. My creative process is grounded in thoughtful planning and organization, often beginning with lists and structured brainstorming. I draw inspiration from everyday life, including conversations, visual media, and the world around me. I value close collaboration with clients throughout the design process, helping them connect personally to the work and ensuring the final outcome aligns with their vision.
Throughout my academic and professional journey, I’ve had the opportunity to develop a wide range of skills. While at Anderson University, I served as the Print Production and Studio Manager for the South Carolina School of the Arts. Since then, I’ve worked in the marketing department of an art museum and held roles as a print production assistant, graphic designer, and marketing manager. Each experience has strengthened my design abilities and deepened my passion for visual communication.
Outside of design, I continue to grow my skills in photography—an interest that has evolved from a hobby into a creative outlet. Photography allows me to explore different styles and editing techniques using Adobe Bridge, Photoshop, and Lightroom, further expanding my visual storytelling capabilities.
