Objective: Teams of designers will be creating a solution for a real-world problem that needs to be solved. The final design solution should contain a physical product as well as a mobile application that interacts with it. The product and application will have an original brand identity and prepared to launch via an integrated campaign.
Solution: My team and I came up with the problem of parking. On campus and going to work can always be stressful with not knowing if there will be an open parking spot at your destination. We decided to solve this problem and give users a mobile app that would tell them if parking was available at their desired location. Business and colleges would invest in our sensor pad that would be placed underneath the top layer of asphalt. Our sensor pad runs on solar power from the heat the asphalt absorbs. They detect a car or object by weight and sends information to the server which then gets transferred to our app live time. Our app showcases the satellite view of parking lot locations. You would be able to select your destination, see how many and the location of open parking spots, as well as, receive navigation instructions. Our website provides more information on how the app and product would work. Businesses and contractors would also be able to request a quote for installment through our website. Our campaign to market involves testimonials with customers sharing their horror stories and how Pinpoint is here to help. Brand recognition is provided through tangible touchpoints such as decal stickers, keychain, and mailing post cards.
